Georgia Outdoor News and Georgia Outdoor Network are teaming up to double your chances to win a new Chevy truck! Compete only against other members in your GONetwork District for a chance to win the truck.

Join the Network and you can win the truck - but more importantly, you can help protect hunting and fishing in the state of Georgia.

  • 57 GONetwork Districts
  • 57 SEEDS Qualifiers

Clint Strange (top) of Macon had the best-scoring deer from District 18, which qualified him for the drawing for the Chevy Colorado. In August 2007, at the GON Outdoor Blast, he won that drawing. Shorty Cason (bottom) had the best-scoring SEEDS deer from District 7, which earned him a spot in a drawing for a deer hunt at Little River Plantation. He won that drawing and will collect his deer hunt in November 2007.

Hey kids, want to go on a deer hunt in Texas? Here's your chance!

Grand-prize winner
The grand-prize winner in the 2007 SEEDS Big-Buck Contest is headed to Texas on a trophy-buck hunt. The winning kid will bowhunt (or crossbow) for free-ranging whitetails on a 3,000-acre ranch near Hondo, Texas. The trip offers our SEEDS winner the chance to shoot the buck of a lifetime. The winning kid will also get to hunt hogs, turkey, a host of small game and go bass fishing. For those who have never shot a bow or crossbow, plenty of instruction will be part of this trip.

This all-expense paid hunting trip includes air-fare, licenses, lodging and meals. It's being sponsored by Flies & Fletching, Arrowdynamic Solutions and country-music singer Roland Whitt.

This six-day dream trip will take place in December. A cameraman, who will act as a hunting guide, will be hunting with the winning kid and his/her one parent or guardian. At the end of the hunt our youth will be given a DVD of the adventure.

Runner-up
This year's sponsors are being real generous. They've insisted on taking two SEEDS to Texas! The runner-up in the 2007 SEEDS Big-Buck Contest will hunt the same ranch and can shoot three does, one spike buck, hogs, turkey and small game. The hunt will also last six days and take place in December.

GONetwork members who subscribe to GON magazine are eligible to enter the same deer in
both the GONetwork to Win and the GON Truck-Buck contests.

Shoot 1 Big Buck and you could win 2 New Trucks!

• Be a paid GONetwork member before you kill the buck. If your spouse is a member of GONetwork, you're covered under that membership and will be eligible to enter a deer. One year's membership is $17.50 and is available online or by calling (800) 866-5516.
• Also, you must be a paid subscriber to GON magazine before you kill the buck. Again, if your spouse has a subscription to GON, you're covered under that. To get a $19.95 subscription, go to www.gon.com or call (800) 438-4663. Because you must be a GON subscriber, entries will be included in GON's Truck-Buck Contest.
• Take an antlered buck in Georgia and take good photos. You must provide at least three photos of yourself with the buck.
• Enter the buck online or use the application on page 100 of the August issue of GON magazine. Mail it to GONetwork Big-Buck Contest, 4331 Seven Islands Rd., Madison, Ga. 30650.
• Entries must be received within seven business days of the time of harvest. For example, a deer shot on Saturday, September 8 can't be entered unless GONetwork receives the entry form with photos no later than the close of business Tuesday, September 18.
• After deer season you'll need to attend a special scoring event; location and date will be announced later. Contestants with the best-scoring bucks from each district will be entered in the drawing, which will take place Saturday, August 9, 2008 at GON's Outdoor Blast in Macon.
